Finding Free Makeup Samples

By MakeupGirl

When I see some kind of makeup or skin care product that I want to try, I always worry that I might be wasting my money. Lets face it, even good makeup products don't work for everyone. Just because I like the color of lipstick, doesn't mean its going to look good on me. I think the best thing to do to avoid this situation is to get samples of makeup to decide what you think of it before you spend your money on it.

Free makeup samples are often available; you just have to know how to find them. Makeup samples are readily available and most of them are free of charge. The number thing you can do to find yourself samples is to ask. When you are at cosmetic counters and you see something that you think you might like, ask if they have any samples of the product.

A lot of makeup companies offer sample giveaways when you make a purchase of something else from them. If you make a purchase exceeding a certain dollar amount, then they will throw in freebies. This means they have the freebies to give away. Even though the gifts might technically be attached to a purchase, it doesn't hurt to ask for them without the purchase. Its to the advantage of cosmetic companies to offer samples since it will help them get a new customer if you like the product.

You can also look for free samples on the internet. Many companies do a lot of business online these days so they also offer free samples online if you are willing to answer a few questions and give them your name and address so they can mail you the samples. They are looking for people like you to let them know why you are interested in their product. This gives them a better idea of their market and who to target their products to.

The company may have you fill out a survey. Sometimes they do this so that they can gather information about their target market. They are more interested in the demographic information - like general shopping habits, age and interests of the people who like their products.

Once in awhile, you'll come across a survey that is pretty long. I would say that you should stick to the shorter, easier surveys unless you are filling out a survey for a product you really want. Even though you are getting something free out of it, your time is still valuable and you should make sure your time is well spent.

So if you're like me and you've been disappointed by makeup purchases in the past, consider a New Years resolution to spend money only after you've tried a sample of the product. Then you'll know you really are getting your money's worth. - 17944
