The countdown is over " 2009 is here, probably sprung on you quite quickly " or maybe it couldnt have come quicker! Now is the time everyone is thinking about New Years resolutions, or what they want to achieve. How do you create an awesome year to come? I have put together 6 points that will assist you in creating and achieving a year to remember.
1. Celebrate your success first! That is right " before you go ahead and organise 2009s achievements it is best to look back and realise all the things you achieved in 2008. This is important to help you realise that you have actually achieved a lot in the past year! No success is too small! It can be personal, financial, health "related or even spiritual. Maybe you made it to every soccer practise of your sons, maybe you jogged that 2km route you had wanted to do, or you got a promotion at work, or made a garden in the back yard! Everything counts! Once you have your list " be proud, celebrate and reward yourself for a job well done!
2. Well done on your accomplishments! The nest step which will support you in your future successes is to put down on paper the reasons you believe helped you in achieving those goals. Were there obstacles that you managed to overcome, and if so " how did you do it? What was the key point that pushed you over the line? All the lessons learned here will help you in your achievements this year.
3. Now that you have realised that you can achieve whatever you put your mind to, it is a good idea to set out some goals for this year. Write down things that you would like to achieve this year, including one big goal that if you achieve it, it would make 2009 the best year yet! Just list them down, it can be as many as you like. Dont worry about how you are going to achieve these goals; this will come to you later. Once you have let your creative juices flow " go through and prioritise what are important to you. Pick a top 10 to work on.
a. Keep in mind " when writing goals, make sure these goals are coming from your heart and not from what other people want of you. You will find you will achieve goals that are fuelled from the heart, before you achieve things for other people. The most important person in your life is YOU first, so make sure you are writing your own goals.
4. You have your own top 10 goals. Now is the time to describe them in detail. Write what it is like sitting in your new BMW 320d, what it smells like, what it feels like and what other people are doing around you. Focus on being present in the moment of achieving the goal and write as much detail as possible. Write this all in the present tense.
5. Now for the KEY POINT! This will put fuel in your fire, it will create action so do not skip this step! Now that you know what it feels like to achieve the goal " I want you to write why it is important to you to achieve this goal. Write what would happen if you never achieved the goal. If you find that it wouldnt matter " then you need to replace it with a goal that does. This will help you realise the reasons to be motivated to move towards your goals. Spend time on this section.
6. Finally prioritise your top 10, giving them dates to achieve it by. Put this dated list somewhere where you can see it regularly. Come back to the goals weekly, monthly and even quarterly. Another final point to keep in mind " dont stress about the details of the how, in fact you dont need to focus on it. Focus your energy and mind on being the person who achieves the goals, and the rest will come to you through the law of attraction.
As long as you are being the person that achieves these goals, the people or things will be attracted to you in order for you to achieve them. Have an absolutely successful 2009 and remember to enjoy each present moment. I will leave you with a quote from Rhonda Burn of The Secret: You can turn your life into paradise but the only way you can do it is to make the inside of you a paradise. There is no other way. You are the cause, your life is the effect. - 17944
