Since Colotox seems to becoming more popular (or at least it has been more heavily marketed lately) I figured it was time for me to do a review. The results were less than stellar for Colotox as you'll soon find out. The product seems ok, but where it gets really ugly is when I looked into the company behind Colotox.
In terms of ingredients, Colotox is a pretty run of the mill product. It has the regular colon cleansing (fiber based) ingredients that many others have. I don't why one couldn't expect the product to function as it's supposed to. So the product itself seems fine, it's the business practices that have me worried.
Colotox, like a few other colon cleansing scams, has a very big 'free trial' option on their website. I hoped for the best, and started digging into their terms and conditions. To my dismay (not very surprising unfortunately) they have an autoship described in the fine print that they hope you wont see. If you accept the free trial you only have 14 days to cancel the program before you are charged $38.95 for a month's supply of the product that is being shipped to you. 30 days after your order you begin receiving shipments and charged $44.90 every month thereafter until you cancel. What's sad is that most people won't realize this and will get scammed into the free trial and get hit with a bunch of unnexpected charges 14 days later.
The bad news doesn't stop there. They also charge a 15% restocking fee if you ever return your product (which has also been a headache for some according to some complaint boards).
To get a better feel for the company behind the product, I've found the Better Business Bureau to be a pretty good source. In Colotox's case, the BBB didn't seem too sympathetic. They rated them as an 'F.' In addition, I found a complaint filed with Arizona Attorney General's office that said that the company behind Colotox (Central Coast Nutraceuticals Inc.) was engaging in deceptive and misleading advertising and sales practices.
In summary, Colotox should be avoided at all costs. If you aware of the autoship, restocking fee, and poor customer service and you still want to purchase Colotox, then go right ahead. But unfortunately most people will get taken advantage of by these shady business practices. - 17944
