Jewelries on Valentines Day is So Not Cliche!

By Art Barron

Jewelry is a standard when it comes to romantic relationships. Whether a lover is proposing, appreciating or apologizing, there is always jewelry. The practice just never gets old! It's not surprising why. After all, here is one area where traditional does not mean second rate.

But before you go thinking if a visit to the jewelry shop will ultimately brand you as a walking clich, here's a list of reasons why you should give jewelry on Valentines Day.

Reason # 1: Eternity? Think nothing of it. True, there's nothing like the moment when your lover enters the room and there are a dozen vases filled with roses strewn around and balloons filling up the floor, but once the moment has passed and the flowers have wilted and the balloons have deflated, the moment is over. Bear in mind that the shine of jewelry will be the same today and a decade from now.

Reason # 2: Customized jewelry just for your needs. There are so many stores that craft customized jewelry. If you're decided on this kind of gift, why not have a portrait of you done on a pendant? Or commission a piece that's apt for your lover's hobbies and likes. If she likes the beach, make a charm bracelet with starfish, shells, and fish!

Reason # 3: They never lose value. There is a reason why the world's currency is hinged on gold reserves. No matter the season, whether the whole country is in a recession or not, this rare metal is always priceless. You can count on gold (and other gems!) to never depreciate. Kind of like your special someone--- as precious to you now as the day you met!

Reason # 4: Jewelry sets the tone for the relationship. Giving someone jewelry says so many things! Love, commitment, beauty, eternity, respect, purity - pretty much everything that a relationship should be!

Reason 5: Jewelry goes with anything! This is one reasoning that a woman (of fashion) couldn't agree more. With jewelry, you don't have to worry about mixing and matching them to an outfit, which, of course, really matters in style. A piece of silver bangle will look perfect with any outfit for any event. If you're gifted with art, pick out colors that will bring out the eye color of your lover. You will never go wrong for keeping style in mind.

Reason # 6: You were made for each other! Many couples have matching jewelry, and there is a reason why! It's classy, discrete and pretty much permanent. Forget painful tattoos and loud, tacky shirts. A small ring, bracelet or necklace is much better.

Reason 7: Wherever you go, you will always have a piece of your loved one with you. Where do pendants rest? It's always near the heart, and what could ever be more romantic than that? Even if the two of you are oceans apart, you will always remain close to one another. The piece of jewelry will surely keep you in your loved one's mind. While the two of you are out of sight from each other, that doesn't mean you are not on their mind.

Reason # 8: You have options. For some people, jewelry is a scary option to consider because they have always been thought to cost you an arm and leg. But while this used to be true once, it no longer is true now. If you are on a budget, plenty of stores offer cuts and settings that can fit your resources. You don't always have to go for the diamonds immediately. Birthstones are as beautiful for the fraction of the cost.

Reason # 9: And best friends don't leave each other folks! Lastly: if there is a strong argument in favor of jewelry for Valentines Day, it is nothing else but this: diamonds are still a girl's best friend. Surveys indicate that compared to flowers, chocolates and lingerie, women still prefer to receive jewelry! And men are catching up on the trend. As they say, if you're a betting person, put your money on sure wins! - 17944
