Airsoft Projectiles

By Alexander Malroy

Airsoft is the latest war game to have entered the market. Initiated in Southeast Asia, it is gradually becoming popular all over the world. War games are hugely popular as they bring in a good measure of anticipation that is enjoyed by the players. Airsoft is a typical war game that is fought between teams.

These games are also known as strategy games where the players spend considerable time developing ways to outperform the opponents. Airsoft has become a popular sport all over the world though there are still some countries that do not recognize it as a legitimate game.

Sometimes paintballs and airsoft are mistaken to mean the same thing but they are not the same. There are a number of differences between the two. The main difference is in the use of the two types of guns. While airsoft BBs are used in the airsoft guns, the paintballs use paintballs while attacking the opponents.

In addition, airsoft guns are different and perhaps more defined than paintball. In paintball you typically see people running around trying to get that most eager shot possible. But in airsoft, the guns can extend the pressure further because it uses gas pressure to fire off the airsoft BBs.

There is more complex technology used in crafting airsoft guns and if you look at them closely, they are replicates of real guns. But the projectiles they produce are only within 6 to 8 mm in terms of diameter. These guns also operate differently and may need to use batteries to keep them going. They can also be either automatic or semi-automatic only.

Players who are hit by the enemy should admit that they are "dead" and should submit themselves out of the game. Marshalls play a very important role of mediating and deciding who should be out. During the rush of the game where running and hiding takes place, and because of their thick clothes, players often didn't notice that they are already being hit. That is why the role of the Marshals is crucial.

But because of the size of the pellets, and since not all airsoft BBs are stained like paintballs the honor system is followed. This simply means that players who have been fired successfully with the pellets must surrender themselves out of the game. Sometimes referees and marshals are also present to make sure that those who must be out are really out of the game already.

Most of the times, due to adrenaline rush and the firing of bullets some players might not know that they have been hit and therefore tainted pellets are used at times. There are however a lot of players who do not want to use the tainted pellets as these cause damage to the guns and also the clothes. Airsoft is one of the most entertaining games and bring unending hours of enjoyment. - 17944
