Diet Fads - What works?

By Jeff Cline

Everyone is waiting for the new next big diet trend, in hopes that it will be the answer. Everyone is waiting for that magic pill to be introduced. The big secret is what can we do to get the weight off and keep it off for more then a few months.

Depravation is not cool. Most fad diets involve some sort of depravation. They will drop the pounds right off of you, that is why they are popular. However, when you fail, and you will, you gain it all back and then some!

I know that me myself and I have tried the huge craze from a few years back of eating like a cave man, meat cheese and veggies. It worked for about 6 months until I felt unsatisfied. I started eating normal again and get it all back, plus 20 extra on top.

Lets talk about the popular diets pills. There are literally thousands of these bought off the supermarket shelves everyday. Most of them can be very dangerous. Yu can develop problems such as; heart problems, stroke and digestive problems.

Let me be honest and frank and tell you the big weight loss secret. In fact, it is not a secret at all, we just tend to ignore it. The most efficient way to drop the weight and enjoy keeping it off is to incorporate a healthy diet and exercise routine into our lives.

You should only be losing 1-2 pounds per week to keep it healthy. If you losing more then that you probably are not doing something healthy. You need enough calories to sustain your body. You wouldn't want your hair to fall out and your skin to shrivel up like a prune.

Proper nutrition is important so don't reduce calories so much that you are passing out or a raging mad human being. Proper nutrition is important to our health and our physical appearance. How would you like to lose your hair and age 5 years, then stop eating.

So what you need to do is quit simple. Add some exercise into your day. You do not have to be a fitness fanatic to reap the benefits. Three-4 days a week of moderate exercise will do. Get plenty of water and make more sensible choices as often as you can in your diet. - 17944
