I have made a sampling of the movies released this year (2008). I have chosen a few of the movies that I think you might like. I hope you find a couple of movies that are good viewing.
ROLE MODELS: Danny (Paul Rudd) and Wheeler (William Scott), a couple of energy drink promoters, might be seeing some hard jail time after trashing the company truck. The option to get out of jail time is to work in community service for 150 hours. The problem is they will need to mentor some kids as sort of a big brother. Let the fun begin.
HAMLET 2: Unsuccessful actor Dana Marshz has found himself teaching the high school after classes to bored and unmotivated kids. When the high school loses a major building, the powers to be feel the useless after choruses will have to go. Wanting to fight, he is on a mission to save the after classes by producing Hamlet 2, a new version of the classic, which he put to paper himself.
TROPIC THUNDER: With an abundance of acting talent we soon see this movie is a spoof on many of the most popular war movies. To get better results from his crew to make a true epic masterpiece, the seemingly bold director into the wild, and leaves them on their own. His theory is to frighten them into the realism needed for a great war film, that will be recorded on hidden cameras. Unbelievably, as the director steps on an old land mine and dies, the spoiled actors are on their own, and they start acting, thinking it's a big set, when things start to get very real. Stars include Ben Stiller, Robert Downey Jr., and Tom Cruise.
10,000 B.C.: This film takes us back almost 12,000 years. When a warlike tribe invade the Yaghai tribe, they kidnap the beautiful Evolet. A young hunter named D'Leh, who is in love with her, leads a group of hunters to pursue the warlords, and rescue Evolet and the others.
THE DARK KNIGHT: Batman, and law enforcement officials, are on a mission to clean up Gotham City. Crime is now down, but now a new super criminal arrives on the scene, and attacks the city. Batman has his work cut out him now, as criminal mastermind, the Joker, has released an overwhelming assault on Gotham City.
MADAGASCAR: ESCAPE 2 AFRICA: As the title suggests, this the next edition to the big hit film Madagascar. Our cast of lost animals, Alex (Lion), Marty (Zebra), Gloria (Hippo), and Melman (Giraffe) are trying to get back to the zoo in New York, and go back to the lives they know. As opposed to going home, with the Penguins leading them astray, they are off to Africa instead.
GET SMART: Maxwell Smart (agent 86) makes a return to the big screen, can you believe it? Would you believe... ? The classic James Bond spy spoof, gadgets galore, and all the classic quotes. This a modern day version that looks back at the antics of Maxwell Smart.
BOLT: Bolt: This film is a movie for the whole family. Bolt, is a dog who is an actor, who in his TV show, has super hero dog powers. His problem is that he really thinks he has these powers. When he is accidentally finds himself in a real world situation, he discovers that he is just a dog. Now, trying to get back home, he is aided by Mittens, the cat, and Rhino, the hamster.
STEP BROTHERS: Two forty year old child adults, who still live with their single parents, find themselves having to share a bedroom because their parents marry, we see that they are bound to have problems. Put Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly playing the parts, and this has the makings for a raucous comedy. This movie is a must see if your looking for some laughs.
