The Truth About Carbs And Fat Free Food

The over weight problem is the whole population issue, including the older sedentary, middle-age, and nerdy teenage population. Everyday the news and information brings it to our face. And it is an international epidemic. We must ask ourself, how did we get into this stage now?

We have been indoctrinated the idea of lowering our fat intake by food nutritionists and the food industry over the last thirty years. This was a direct result of the information published by the government that encouraged less egg consumption because of the cholesterol found in eggs.

Then doctors began to discover that when we consume fat, we have higher incidences of cholesterol problems. As the conclusion is: fat must be bad for you. And so, an entire generation as grown up with fat-free foods and believing that fat was what made us fat, clogged our arteries, and generally caused ill-health.

In order to make up the loss of taste in fat removed food, we had to add more carbs. The result is the "fat free" food is actually higher in carbohydrate content. However the truth is that fat is what gives many of our foods their delicious taste. When you remove the fat, the taste must be artificially injected into the food.

When all the wonderful labels displaying the claim of "fat free" but neglect to mention the higher level of carbohydrates, we should ask ourself, shouldn't we all be very slim, trim and healthy according to the food nutritionists and doctors' theory?

We could not ignore the truth any more as fat is the one of the essential nutrients that our body needs in order to function properly. And we need the fat to properly utilize many of the vitamins and nutrients we consume.

We spent thirty years to discover this, probably is too late for some people. The entire generation of young people already became a nation of obese adults, because of their high carbohydrate food choices.

Low self-esteem, weight related health problems, and whole host of emotional problems are hitting these young generation to defenceless. How to help them to correct this problem becomes urgent.

Finding the individual needs for calorie intake every day is very important. From one age group to another, one gender to another the calorie needs are vary, according to the guides published by the USDA .

By recording your daily caloric intake for about a month and make a note of your weight each day. Your recommendation of calorie level will be the average caloric intake on that month that you didn't gain any weight.

Taking this individualized healthy eating plan, use the food pyramid and comprise a combination of foods that will help you achieve this recommended daily intake, and still be enough to be filling and please the palette. It is considered the safe sure way to reach your weight loss goals.
