When I went to my junior prom, I went all out " I bought a top of the line dress that cost a fortune. Scratch that, my parents bought it! The dress was nice, but it ended up a bit damaged by the end of the night. (Lets just say I had a great time). For my senior prom though, the big night, I had to pay for the dress on my own and I really needed to find some way to get a beautiful prom dress cheap. I wanted it all, the magical night, the gorgeous date, the after party, and the dressthe dress that would make people stop, and stare, and smile!
I tried on dozens of dresses, but I kept finding myself being brought back to the designer dresses. You see, I am not, shall we say, well endowed up top, so I wanted to find something that would pump up what I have and minimize my waist size so I could look my best. Since I was now on a budget, this was causing me some significant problems in finding the right dress at the right price. The web back then (which wasn't very long ago at all!) wasn't as much of a help as I would've liked, because it wasn't as developed as it is today, but I tried it anyway.
I spent a bunch of time perusing websites to find a prom dress cheap enough that would make me look good, flatter what I wanted to accentuate, and actually be available to get in time for prom. I ended up looking at edressme (which has a link below) and found what I needed, but not without spending a lot of time searching. The funny thing is that they even had some designer dresses marked down, but I did end up buying a new, cheaper dress.
When I found my perfect gown - a gorgeous purple, shimmery dress that accentuated my bust and hid my stomach, I was over the moon with happiness. Now I knew I could feel confident going to prom, and happy that I would be buying in the under $100 prom dresses category. I even imagined that the dress was non-specialized enough that I could wear it more than once!
After a lot of work, my search had a happy ending, and I hope your search will too! When you're looking for prom dresses for cheap, remember to figure out the basic style or idea of what you want first, and be open to new ideas and different styles. It will probably take you some time to find the ideal dress, but it is definitely worth it, especially if you want to save money or you're on a budget.
Even though it was hard work and I was initally upset my parents made me pay for stuff, I did find the perfect gown for the night. Don't settle for a dress you're not happy with - keep looking until you know you have the right one (and yes, this applies to prom dates, too). You won't regret it! - 17944
